Now this is a quite the cold shot! 23 degrees last night and highs not out of the mid 40’s yesterday! Now we will see a referral for about a week as the temps will rise. Winter Outlook looks potentially a bit colder than normal and above normal snow in the west and north… maybe a bit less at the coast
Summary: Long time since I last posted. Temperatures averaged quite a bit lower than normal for October and have continued into November! As a Strong low over the Gulf of Alaska re-aligns the jet stream, a strong warm up should occur for the country. We will average about 5 – 8 degrees above normal> the long term is showing a reversal in temps as high latitude blocking develops again (the needed mechanism for colder air to pure into the east). The snow cover has steadily increased and the trends would appear to be setting us up for a colder than normal winter.
