Posted on September 25, 2004 By Mid Atlantic Weather No Comments on FL Disaster in the Makings!

Frances, or at least what is left of her, is on a march just along or to the west of the Appalachian mountains. On this track, we will be getting hit with heavy rains, some flooding likely, and even Severe weather as strong “spin” will remain in the atmosphere. Guidance is showing 2-4 inches, but…

Posted on September 2, 2004 By Mid Atlantic Weather No Comments on 09/02/2004 10:40PM Frances thoughts continued

So the turn to the Northwest was not a total change in direction, but was a turn or further up the coast. Closer to Vero Beach…. The thoughts remain the same to me.. no real sense she will turn out to hit the GA coast, but I can only say it is a possibility and…

Gaston Tropical Storm Again!

Posted on August 30, 2004 By Mid Atlantic Weather 1 Comment on Gaston Tropical Storm Again!

Sorry to areas of lower southern Maryland and SE VA as this storm went further south and east than I thought. Spoke with my folks in Richmond who received around 8 inches of rain. They said this was devastating. Of note, Gaston never really lost its tropical look or feel. Strong circulation has even given…
