Irene makes landfall – Many Threats!

Posted on August 27, 2011August 27, 2011 By Mid Atlantic Weather No Comments on Irene makes landfall – Many Threats!

Irene made landfall at about 7:30 AM – She is kicking in a lot of heavy rain and severe weather now for VA, MD, and NC. She has kicked precipitation way west! I suspect Flood Watched on and east of I-95 to become Flood Warnings. Tornado watches all along the coast with many rotating thunderstorms capable of tornadoes, and winds along the coast to cause extensive damage. Expect Flood watches to extend to to about 35 miles west of I-95 if trends continue.

The threat moves up the coast all day!

Stay alert! Be careful! Do NOT try and drive through flooded roadways! Do NOT put yourself in harms way!

All for now!
