Sorry to areas of lower southern Maryland and SE VA as
this storm went further south and east than I thought.
Spoke with my folks in Richmond who received around 8
inches of rain. They said this was devastating. Of
note, Gaston never really lost its tropical look or
feel. Strong circulation has even given it a Tropical
Storm ranking again and that was almost before it hit
the coast! (Hurricane Danny did the same thing in
1997)
After this leaves, we will have a nice week.
OK one more note on Frances. Looking like Florida will
be the target. Sorry for my flip flopping, but I am
almost certain Florida will be its landfall state. It
will then ride up towards us so we will possibly see
indirect effects of it around Labor Day.
