At 1244 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. The public reported flash flooding near Bloxom with water impacting Shoremain Drive. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Onancock, Parksley, Bloxom, Hallwood, Guilford, Nelsonia, Mappsville, Modest Town, Clam, Temperanceville, Assawoman, Oak Hall, Atlantic, Wallops Island, New Church, Horntown, Greenbackville and Harborton.

Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen in the past 15 to 30 minutes. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the area in the next hour or two.
