Today it will be very warm to hot. Temperatures may make it into the low 90s in parts of central and southeastern Virginia down into North Carolina. A cold front will be approaching the area and could spark some severe storms this afternoon. The severe storms prediction Center has outlined parts of Maryland and New Jersey for a slight chance for severe storms and a large portion of northern Virginia has been placed under a marginal threats for severe. Showers and thunderstorms should start in the early afternoon.
Tomorrow will be much closer to seasonal norms in the 60s and some 70s south. Showers will be possible on and off straight through Friday! Better rain chances will be this evening and overnight and then Wednesday night into Thursday. As of now, Saturday looks dry and seasonal, but more showers could enter the picture by Sunday.
While I am not happy to have so many damp days in a row, the firefighting should get some aid over the next several days.
