After a visit of the Polar Vortex and some of the coldest weather we have seen in a while, temps will be cold for a day more and then step to milder weather.. and even milder than normal! Temps today will be in the 30s and 40s after a really chilly start (Even Freezing fog in the SW VA, NW NC(
Tomorrow we should see milder mid-40s to mid-50s in the south. Even Milder Thursday with a chance of some 60s in far southern NC.
A front comes through Thursday night and knocks temps back a bit, but we recover during the weekend with a mild Christmas and 50s and 60s even!
Saturday morning MAY be a little interesting for SW VA and Far Western NC as some colder air will be trapped as a few showers move in This may cause some mixing at the onset of the showers. Showers could be around both Saturday and Sunday.
Longer range looks above normal for the Eastern Part of the US. MAYBE hints of a pattern change by Mid January. It also appears to stay wetter than normal.
